Basket weaving is a satisfying and meditative pastime. I'm particularly fond of creating with found material and by using ancient techniques. It's amazing that fallen pine needles taken from the forest floor can be used to create something lasting, beautiful and useful.

Basketry played an important role in the gathering, storage and preparation of food. Evidence of the craft is spread far and wide throughout the history of all human civilization, pre-dating pottery and stone carving.
